Formed in 1991 by a group of film enthusiasts and collectors, The Vitaphone Project has aided in the location of over 3,000 sound discs, and assisted in the restoration of over 12 feature films and 35 short subjects; working in conjunction with the American Film Institute, the British Film Institute, the U.C.L.A. Film Archive, Warner Bros. & Turner.
The Vitaphone Project web site archives past newsletters, articles and all manner of material related to the group's efforts, goals and achievements.
